Dr. Douglas Price, is Director of Global Learning at Tulsa Community College (TCC) providing administrative oversight and leadership for global learning initiatives including collaboration with faculty and school deans to develop globally-focused in-class and co-curricular pieces including local and international organizations; and international scholar and student exchange programs such as Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence, Fulbright Outreach Lecturing Fund Program, Humphrey Fellows, and the CBYX Student Exchange. He develops and maintains local, national and international inter-institutional partnerships to broaden and strengthen global learning programming. He works to connect community and classroom to support global learning. This role has allowed him to develop international partnerships with Nicaragua (Service Learning), Costa Rica (Biological Sciences), France (Virtual Program for English learning), Saudi Arabia (English Program), Yemen (Entrepreneurship), China (Nursing), Japan (Japanese Language / Culture), Brazil (Virtual Program for Cultural Exchange), and the Dominican Republic (Service Learning).
Locally, he has orchestrated a state-wide study abroad trip for all Oklahoma community colleges focusing on the international mobility of low-income students. Since entering his position, he has become very involved in the Tulsa Global Alliance (TGA) serving on their Executive Board in various capacities such as Vice Chair for Global Education, Chair for Kids’ World, and Vice Chair for International Sister Cities programming. He has worked at TCC for twenty-nine years serving in both student and academic affairs. He earned a doctorate degree from Oklahoma State University in Higher Education Administration / School Community Partnerships. His dissertation work on social networks and race at the community college, adjunct professor teaching in Social Psychology, and a love for exploring diversity & inclusion, combine to fuel his passion for work in global diversity and global learning.
