Scott Thompson is the Accounting and Information Technology Director for Mercer Valve, Co., Inc., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he manages projects and offers leadership for both departments. As the Accounting Director of Mercer Valve, Co., Inc. for the past 19 years, Scott Thompson deployed financial strategies that empowered the company to grow from a local Oklahoma-based business to the current international company of today. By restructuring financial operations and supporting the opening of 13 branches, including the three branches located in Australia and Canada, Scott has provided Mercer with valuable wisdom and guidance. As the IT Director of Mercer Valve, Co., Inc., Scott manages the Information Technology department in the growth and supervision that it needs to support Mercer Valve’s network and the programs which are vital to optimizing the production and safekeeping of information.
Including Mercer Valve, Co., Inc., Scott’s professional background encompasses more than 27 years of successful accounting experiences, some of which are UNIX network management, payroll management, corporate and individual taxation, estate & trust taxation, and auditing.
Additionally, Scott is the current Program Chairman of the Oklahoma Governor’s International Team, which he has been a member since 2016. Scott is also a member of the Oklahoma Society of CPAs (OSCPA). He has volunteered and served as president for the Epikos Speech and Debate Club to encourage high school students to participate and compete in local, regional, and international level NCFCA designated tournaments. Scott’s business and personal interests have lead him to Australia, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Ukraine, and United Kingdom.
Scott Thompson holds a BSBA in Accounting from The University of Oklahoma (1992) and holds the designation of Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
