Reta Penington
Director of International Banking at CrossFirst Bank
Reta Penington currently serves as the Director of International Banking at CrossFirst Bank. Ms. Penington became the Director of International Banking for CrossFirst Bank in September, 2014. Reta began her international business career in 1980, with CMI Corporation in Oklahoma City, one of the largest exporters of manufactured equipment in Oklahoma.
Reta’s International Banking career began in 1990 at Liberty Bank in Oklahoma City. She joined Bank of Oklahoma in 1994, moving to Bank of Oklahoma, Tulsa, in 1997. In 2004, Reta moved to The F&M Bank and Trust Company, Tulsa, where she remained until joining CrossFirst Bank. During her career she has had extensive experience with international cash management including foreign exchange and collections. Reta is also proficient in trade finance transactions involving letters of credit for importing and exporting. She also has experience with government related programs including the Export Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) programs.
In 2001, Reta became the first Oklahoma international banker to become a Certified Documentation Credit Specialist, CDCS. This world-wide certification is issued by the Bankers’ Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT) and the International Financial Services Association (IFSA), BAFT-IFSA, and is a certification endorsed by the International Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to her membership in BAFT-IFSA, she is a member of the Oklahoma District Export Council, ODEC, sponsored by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, and the U.S. Department of Commerce, serving as Treasurer since 2009. She also assists in organizing the annual Oklahoma World Trade Conference which recognizes Oklahoma companies for their outstanding exporting achievements and contributions to the Oklahoma economy.
Ms. Penington is involved with the community in presentations to students at colleges, universities, and commercial business. She is also well known as a speaker to businesses on Export Payment Methods and Trade Finance through the U.S. and Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
Reta Penington received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business through the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond Oklahoma.
