Young Chappell

Young Chappell is an Engineer with Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) at the Oklahoma City Site since February 2007. Currently she is a Test Engineer for Bombers, B-2 & ALCM. Prior to this role Young was responsible for ensuring Systems Engineering for the Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2) including Airborne Warning and Control Systems (AWACS), Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Mission Computing Hardware. In addition, she also was Project/ Systems/Software Engineering E-3 AWACS Radar systems, B-52 Bomber Software, B-1B Bomber Airframe, KCKDC-10 Tankers, C-9 US Navy & 747 NASA, and FAA Next Generation SE2020 CNS/ATM. She has supported concurrent projects, across multiple products and seamless integration across Boeing. Young was the Lead Korean Language Translator for the complete BDS Korea proposal Campaign of KC-X Aerial Refueling Tanker and FX-III Silent Eagle.

Prior to Boeing, Young taught Physics at University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in Edmond, OK and worked at Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Young holds a M.S. Physics from Oklahoma State University OK and B.S. Degree in Chemistry w/Biology minor from Cameron University, OK.
