The OKGIT’s bi-monthly meetings are scheduled

April 2: Oklahoma International Trade Representative Reception

Join Oklahoma business and international trade leaders for the 2019 Oklahoma International Trade Representative Reception. Experts from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce,
U.S. Department of Commerce and more welcome trade representatives from across the globe to connect with Oklahoma businesses. This is an RSVP-required event, official invitations will be going out soon to OKGIT members, partners and friends in the community. April 3: Oklahoma World Trade Conference
Get ready for a day of ideas, inspiration & insight at the 35th annual Oklahoma World Trade Conference!
This year’s format has been modified to two half-day concurrent programs, which will target those new to exporting as well as those more experienced. The concurrent programs will be followed by a Luncheon honoring the 2018 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting, among others. There’s a good write up for the conference’s topics and focus here thanks to our partners at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.

April 3: International Student Recognition Day at the Oklahoma Capitol
On behalf of Representative Mark McBride and the Oklahoma Governor’s International Team, students enrolled in colleges and universities in Oklahoma are invited to attend the International Student Recognition Day to be held Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 9:30-2:00 at the State Capitol and Oklahoma Judicial Center. The day will include a tour of the capitol, lunch with legislators, guest speakers that includes Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell, and recognition on the floor of the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

April 17: Small Business Trade Day
Trade Day program will advise participants about Customs Border Protection’s role in Trade imports and exports – Automation and Partnership; What Small Business Owners need to know and what they should avoid when importing into the U.S.; The role of the Broker in imports and exports and how they can help; Resources available to the Small Businesses (USDOC, SBREFA, SBA programs and DHS/CBP contract opportunities). May 7: Carribean Road Show

June 5-6: Access Asia – Oklahoma Aerospace
The Access Asia program is designed to tee up these big opportunities in our key deficit markets, get in front of the leaders of companies that our data show can compete and use our unique access to the host country decision makers (private and public) to get the U.S. company over the finish line. Our partners in the Oklahoma Department of Commerce will have an Oklahoma pavilion and provide business services at event for Oklahoma companies interested in exhibiting with state for export opportunities relating to the aerospace sector. June 19-21: Mexican Petroleum Congress 2019
Poliforum Convention & Exhibition Center, Leon, Mexico
Representatives from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and the Oklahoma-Mexico Trade Office will have an Oklahoma pavilion and provide booth logistics/services along with B2B matchmaking meetings for Oklahoma companies interested in export opportunities in Mexico’s oil & gas sector.
October 7-11: Mexico ITO Business Visit to Oklahoma
ODOC Global Team to arrange business meetings between Oklahoma-Mexico’s Trade Representative and Oklahoma businesses interested in trade/exporting assistance into the Mexican market, which is Oklahoma’s second largest market destination for export of goods.
Fall 2019: Oklahoma Export Financing Seminars
Fall 2019 – Dates and exact locations o be announced, likely in OKC or Tulsa
Half-day seminar in OKC and Tulsa on export financing services along with other relevant tools to help OK businesses compete on level playing field. Expected invited guests will be the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM Bank), U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Center-SBDC (Stillwater), and local bank officials.
