Nancy Titus-Piersma is a lecturer at Oklahoma State University, where she teaches Personal Finance, Principles of Corporate Finance, Real Estate Investment Finance, International Finance and various banking courses.
She is the President of a small business consulting firm, JDT and Associates. Prior to starting this firm in 2004, Ms. Titus-Piersma served as Vice President, Global Trade and Treasury Services for Bank One (now J.P. Morgan Chase) for 11 years. In this capacity, she assisted multinational companies in expanding their import and export trading capabilities through a variety of banking services, including foreign currency loans, letters of credit, foreign exchange options and export working capital. Her clients ranged from a small import-export firm buying and selling to Africa, to a multinational raising money on the London stock exchange for Russian oil and gas ventures.
Prior to working with Bank One, Ms. Titus-Piersma obtained credit training with First Republic Bank in Dallas, Texas. As a credit analyst, she was responsible for a portfolio of loans including Mexican banks (Banespa, Banco Nacional and others). She also performed credit analysis on various Venezuelan state owned entities (PDVSA) and Korean multinationals (Goldstar).
In the late 1980s she served for two and a half years as program director for the Oklahoma Export Finance Program at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. After returning to the private sector in 1991, she completed advanced training with the Export- Import Bank of the United States, which granted her bank the opportunity to utilize Eximbank programs as a Preferred Lender. In 2002, she received her Commercial Cash Management (CCM) certification from the Association for Finance Professionals, which included testing for proficiency in global treasury management.
Ms. Titus-Piersma has been appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve as a board member of the Oklahoma District Export Council, where she has volunteered for the past 20 years.
Ms. Titus-Piersma graduated from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in 1987, with a Masters in International Management. She obtained her B.A. in Political Science, Magna cum Laude, from Hope College in 1982. She has studied French, is fluent in Spanish and has lived and traveled extensively abroad. She is married to Jack Titus, an Art Professor at Oklahoma State University, and has two daughters.
